Students in Kindergarten and first grade may checkout one book weekly. Students in second grade may checkout two books weekly. Students in grades 3-5 may checkout two books for a period of two weeks. Students in all grades are encouraged to return to the library at any time to get another book.

Procedimientos de la Biblioteca

Los estudiantes de Kinder y primero podrán tomar prestado solamente un libro de la biblioteca. Los estudiantes de segundo grado podrán tomar dos libros a la semana. Estudiantes de 3º a 5º podrán tomar dos libros en un periodo de dos semanas. Se les anima a todos los estudiantes a que regresen a cambiar su libro en cualquier momento.

Happy Birthday Book Club

Dear Parents,
Would you like to honor your child on his/her birthday and help the library as well? You may donate a book to the library in your child’s name. The cost is $15.00. This is the average price of the books that are available for selection.

Here is how it works:

1. Return the attached form indicating your desire to participate in the

Birthday Book Club.
2. A few days before your child’s birthday, you may come by the library

to select a book from our Birthday Book Club collection.
3. On the day of your child’s birthday we will announce the donation

and show the book during assembly.
4. A photo will be taken of your child holding the book to be placed on

display in the hallway outside the library.
5. The birthday child will be the first one to check out the book.

Feliz Cumpleanos Club de Libros

Estimado Padre,
Te gustaría dar honor a tu híjo/a en su compleaños míentras le ayudas a la biblioteca? Puedes donar un líbro a la biblioteca en nombre de tu híjo/a. Te costara $15.00. Este precío es tipico de un líbro que podran seleccíonar.

Aquí se explíca como funciona:

1. Devuelvanos la forma indícando que quieres participar en el Feliz
Cumpleaños Club de Libros.
2. Unos pocos días antes del cumpleaños de tu híjo/a pudes pasar
por la biblioteca para seleccíonar un líbro de la colleccion de Libro

Incluyídos en el club.
3. En el día que cumple tu híjo/a anuncíaremos la donacíon y
mostraremos el libro durante assemblea.
4. Un retrato sera tomada de su híjo/a con el líbro y lo pondremos en el

pasíllo afuera de la biblioteca.
5. El estudiante que cumpleo años sera el/la primero/a que sacara el

líbro de la biblioteca.

Texas Bluebonnet Reading Program

Students in grades 3-6 may participate in the Texas Bluebonnet Award reading program (TBA). Students must read 5 books from a master list of 20 books to be able to vote for their favorite book in January. Students may count books that have been read to them. The author whose book receives the most votes has their book honored at the Texas Library Association’s annual meeting and the book becomes the winner of the Texas Bluebonnet Award for that year. To see a list of this year’s nominees, lists from past years and the winners of past years go to the Bluebonnet website.

Programa de Lectura Bluebonnet de Tejas

Los estudiantes de 3º a 6º podrán participar en el programa de lectura de Premios Bluebonnet de Tejas (TBA). Los estudiantes deberán leer por lo menos 5 libros de la lista maestra de 20 libros para poder votar por su libro favorito en el mes de enero. Los estudiantes podrán tomar en cuenta los libros que alguien más les leyó. El autor del libro con mayor cantidad de votos recibirá honor para su libro y a éste será otorgado el premio Bluebonnet de Tejas en la junta anual de la Asociación de Bibliotecas de Tejas. Six Flags Reading Program

Earn free admission to Six Flags by completing six hours of recreational reading. Participating students should keep track of the time spent reading on the tracking sheet they will receive from their teacher. Each child must complete six hours, or 360 minutes of recreational reading. Tracking forms must be initialed and signed by parents. Recreational reading can include reading books, magazines, comic books, newspapers, etc., anything that is not considered homework or a class assignment. Children can read by themselves or with an adult. The tracking sheet must be turned in to the teacher by February ?, 2008 in order for the student to be eligible to receive one free admission to a Six Flags theme park.

Gana una entrada gratis a Six Flags al completar 6 horas de lectura recreacional. Los alumnos que participen deben de anotar el tiempo que lean en la hoja especial que recibirán de su maestra. Cada alumno debe de completar 6 horas o 360 minutos de lectura recreacional. Estas hojas deben de ser firmadas y tener las iniciales de los padres. En esta lectura recreacional se pueden leer libros, revistas, revistas cómicas, periódicos, etc., cualquier tipo de lectura que no sea considerada tarea o trabajos del salón o clase. Los niños pueden leer solos o acompañados por un adulto. Esta hoja debe de entregarse a la maestra para el ? de febrero del 2008, para que el alumno reciba su entrada gratis al parque de Six Flags.
