Library Pfacts:
Accelerated Reader Dessau Elementary utilizes the Accelerated Reader program. AR provides teachers with an effective way to monitor students’ reading progress. AR is a fantastic motivational tool for students and teachers. Students read books on their reading level and take computer-based tests over the books that measure their reading comprehension. We have added many new Accelerated Reader tests. NEW! Accelerated Reader is now online: http://hosted27.renlearn.com/239854/ Parents may request to have an account set up so that they can check their students' testing and scores at home. Students cannot test from home, but parents can see what their child is testing on and how they are doing. To make this request, email the librarian: karen.cunningham@pflugervilleisd.net
Volunteer Opportunities There are several ways that you can volunteer to help in the library, including: Library Volunteer-Helps in the library, usually on a scheduled basis. Helps with circulation, locating information, processing new materials, reshelving books, etc. Book Fair Volunteer-Helps sell books in our Book Fair. Storyteller or Reader-Reads or tells stories to classes We always love having volunteers! No appointment necessary. If you show up, we will find something for you to do!
Congratulations to our 100 point walkers!
