Support Our School

Thank you for learning more about how you can support the D-Backs. Below you will find many ways to contribute to Dessau Middle School. These opportunities may change throughout the year.

Marquee Messages

Marquee Messages will be sold on a first come basis throughout the 08-09 school year. One side of our outside marquee will be designated for these messages. Two messages will be posted twice a week for a total of four messages per week. Messages should be kept to a one or two-line limit, i.e. (Happy Birthday Daisy Diamondback or Congratulations David Diamondback). One set of messages will go up on Monday night and be taken down on Thursday night. The second set will go up on Thursday night and be taken down on Monday night. class fund jar

This year, in lieu of a school wide fundraiser that requires students to sell catalog products from door to door, we are asking that each family simply donate $20. If we are able to collect $20 from at least 300 families, or 1/3 of our student population, we could generate $6000; with 800 family donations or ¾ of our student population we could generate $16,000. The money generated from these donations will be deposited into the Principal’s Account. Please review the list below, outlining some of the initiatives that the Principal’s Account is responsible for funding:

  1. Student PRIDE T-Shirts
  2. PRIDE Field Trip
  3. Student Snacks during TAKS Testing
  4. Red Ribbon Week student incentives
  5. Honor Roll student rewards
  6. End of the Year student awards
  7. Instructional Team Activity Accounts
  8. Teacher Appreciation throughout the school year
  9. Community Mentor Training/Appreciation
  10. School Beautification

Donations will be accepted in the form of cash or checks/money orders made out to Dessau Middle School. Donations will be collected by school personnel during all four lunch periods beginning September 8th through September 30th.
