Your Guide to Using the Thomson/Gale Databases 

One Stop Researching made easy for you!

How to get to the databases from any computer:

  1. Connect to the internet
  2. Access www.pflugervilleisd.net
  3. Scroll down the left-hand side of the page and click on “PISD Libraries Online”, under the Web Services tab
  4. From the list of Schools, choose 

“Hendrickson High School”

  1. On the Hendrickson library home page choose “Gale Databases” If you are not using a district computer, you may be prompted for a password.  The password is lonestar.

Using the Thomson/Gale Databases:

  • In the “Quick Search” box type what you are looking for.
  • Remember to click “All Cross Searchable Databases” for a complete search of all appropriate databases.
  • Click “Search” 

What the Databases Provide to the Researcher:

Updated, verified, easily accessible information from trustworthy resources including, but not limited to encyclopedias, newspapers, journals, periodicals and books.

A “preview page” of articles found which give the researcher a quick synopsis of what the article contains and whether or not illustrations or photographs are provided.

Information which is “cited” for the researcher’s convenience when compiling their bibliography.

Gale Virtual Reference Library

Biography Resource Center

Search award-winning biographical information by occupation, ethnicity or timeframe.

Literature Resource Center

Biographical information, literary criticism and reviews on nearly 130,000 writers from all disciplines and time periods.
