Credits

Each student must have completed all credits for his/her graduation plan in order to participate in the graduation ceremony on June 5. If you are concerned about your student’s progress in a particular class, please contact the appropriate teacher. If you would like to inquire about your student’s credit progress in general, please contact Valorie Carson.

Credit Recovery

The deadline for completing credits in Credit Recovery is April 30 in most cases. Students needing to complete CR credits are encouraged to avail themselves of the Credit Recovery lab before and after school as well as to access their course work on the internet from home.

Attendance

State law requires students to attend each class at least 90% of the time in order to receive credit. If your student has an “N” listed under the credits column on his/her report card, he/she is not currently receiving credit for that course due to absences last semester. Please address attendance concerns to Tony Avalos.

Exit-level TAKS Retests

Students must pass all four portions of Exit-level TAKS in order to earn their diplomas. Additional opportunities to pass TAKS will be offered the first week of March and the last week of April. Study materials are available at www.track.uttelecampus.org and at www.tea.state.tx.us/state.assessment. If you are uncertain as to your student’s TAKS status, please contact Valorie Carson.

Graduation Orders

Orders for graduation items, including announcements, caps, and gowns, should be made through Herff Jones. They can be contacted at 641 Commercial Drive, P.O. Box 1109, Buda, TX 78610, phone (512) 295-6887 or toll-free (866) 804-0683.  Additionally, packets are available in Student Services, the College and Career Center, and the Senior Office. College Entrance Exams NOW!!

If you are college-bound after high school (or if you have any interest at all of perhaps pursuing a college degree!), you should register to take either the SAT or the ACT. You must register for the SAT and the ACT on your own. You may do so by logging onto www.collegeboard.com for the SAT or to www.act.org for the ACT. Check the College and Career Center webpage on Hendrickson’s website for a comparison of the two tests and for additional information about each of the tests. Look in the “Testing Information” box on the webpage.

Colleges and universities in Texas accept either the SAT or the ACT. Schools outside of Texas may or may not. Check the websites of schools of interest to you to help you decide which test to take.

If you have additional questions or concerns, please contact Mrs. Carson in the C100 office or Mr. Sheneman in the College and Career Center.
