Hawk Math Team competes in U.I.L. Academic Tournaments and Texas Math Science Association Tournaments in Mathematics, Calculator and Number Sense events.  Members of this team earn points toward their letter jackets, compete on the Academic District Team, and compete for the chance to earn scholarships.

Calculator Applications

This event is a competition based upon how fast you can navigate your way through calculator problems using trick, short cuts and pure speed.

Mathematics

This event is a fantastic challenge of your knowledge of advanced mathematics concepts and skills. If you excel in Pre-AP or AP algebra, geometry or calculus this event will help your prep for fantastic AP scores with the fun of team competition.

Number Sense

This event is a challenge is comparable to a mathematical sprint. It is a super-fast test that measures your raw skill at numerical calculation. Preparation for this event is a process of learning cool tricks and shortcuts that allow you to maximize your computational skills at mental math.
