Frequently Asked Questions

  • Attendance:
Regular school attendance is essential for a student to make the most of his or her education--to benefit from teacher-led and school activities, to build each day's learning on the previous day's and to grow as an individual.  To learn more about Compulsory Attendance, Attendance for Credit, and what to do if your child is ill, click here:

  • How can I get my student out of class for an appointment?

To avoid a long wait for your student in the main office (and so we won't have to interrupt valuable classroom instruction time), please follow one of these two preferred methods

1) As soon as you know your child has an appointment, e-mail HHSAttendance@pflugervilleisd.net.

Include the following information in your e-mail:  Student name, ID #, reason student is leaving (doctor, dentist appointment or other), what day and time your student needs to leave, and a daytime phone number where we can reach you (information may be verified).

A Permit to Leave Class will be prepared for them.  Your student can pick it up before school in the Main Office.   At the time they need to leave, they will present the form to the teacher.

 OR

2) Send a note with your student to the main office before school.  Please include the information requested above.  They will be given a Permit to Leave Class to present to the teacher.

Unless a student drives, parents are to come to the Main Office to sign out their student.

  • My student's cell phone was confiscated.  How do I get it back?  Student cell phones may be retrieved by parents at any time during the school day in the main office (office hours are 7:00 AM to 4:30 pm).   For the '07/'08 school year, parents are asked to sign for the phone on the first offense; the second offense carries a $15 fine; on the third offense, the cell phone is kept until the end of the school year.  Please do not call your student during the day. They could get their phone confiscated answering your call!   If you have an emergency and need to reach your student, please call the main office. We will be happy to deliver a message.
