After three great years at Hendrickson High School, it’s a privilege to join Kelly Lane and our emerging community. Kelly Lane is a mixture of longtime Pflugerville residents and families from across the nation that call our great neighborhoods a home. It’s an honor to serve you as Principal.
Summer is a time when we get to enjoy the weather, visit family, and travel. It also represents a time for campus leaders to turn the page and begin the next great chapter of Kelly Lane’s story. PFLEX, (PFlugerville Learning EXtensions) is designed specifically for students in the GT program. PFLEX offers innovative lessons which enhance creativity and problem-solving. The curriculum includes Robotics, Independent Study Projects using Renzulli, and competitions such as MathCounts, Destination Imagination, and Step Up.
P.I.T. (Pflugerville Innovative Teens) is a YMCA after school program that hosted at Kelly Lane this year. P.I.T. provides after school supervision until 6:30 (even on early out days). Trained and certified YMCA staff coordinate activities and notify parents if students are unexpectedly absent. This is a great way to know your child is supervised after school for $185/month. Kickstart is a nationally recognized karate class taught during the school day by certified karate instructors. This year, Kelly Lane will be offering Kickstart to all 6th, 7th, and 8th graders. This program costs students $100 and replaces a PE class/credit, with limited financial waivers for qualifying students. While $100 sounds like a lot of money, it basically pays for 187 days of Karate lessons. Not a bad deal.
