Frequently Asked Questions


  • Main HallWhat is the bell schedule?  Due to extended time classes, the three grade levels are virtually on different schedules. Since the bells for the grade levels would interrupt learning for somebody, we'll continue to use bells to begin and end the day only.
  • What about backpacks? Backpacks will only be used to transport items between school and home, so any kind of backpack will be acceptable.   Backpacks must fit in a student locker, where they will be stored during the day.
  • What about textbooks?  Sufficient books are available to allow for school and home copies, except for the new math adoption.  Teachers will keep a class set of textbooks in the room for class use, but students are expected to take student-issued copies home. 
  • What do I bring the first day of school? Only the basic supplies of a notebook and pencil are required for the first day.
  • How do I request homework if my child is absent? Please call 594-2800 and let the receptionist, Mrs. Martinez, know that you would like to request make up work for your child.
  • How do I find out if my child has any homework? Please ask your student to write homework assignments in his/her Agenda Page. You can check this daily.   Teachers can be contacted via email through the staff link on the left of this page.

  • How can I contact the teachers? You may call or email the teacher.  All staff emails and phone numbers are listed on the Staff page.  During instructional time, all calls normally go to voicemail. If you call during a conference period, please ask the main office to connect you to the teacher. Please allow teachers at least 24 hours to respond to either voicemail or email. Cafeteria
  • Who do I call if I have questions about lunch money? Please call 594-2800 and ask to talk to Ms. Yolanda, the Cafeteria Manager.
  • Can I have lunch with my student? Parents/guardians, older siblings, and anyone with parent/guardian permission may have lunch with their student.
  • Can I bring flowers, gifts, or balloons to my student for their birthday or special occasion? You may, but they will be kept in the main office until the end of the day for safe keeping..
  • What time should I pick up my student from football games, volleyball games, dances, etc? All "B" team football games end around 6:30pm or so, while the "A" games end around 8:30pm. All "B" team volleyball games end around 6:30pm or so while the "A" games end around 7:45pm. All dances end at 9:00 pm.
  • How do I find out how my student is performing academically? Contacting the teacher directly is always best - email is available on the staff page.  Progress reports are sent home every 3 wks and report cards 3 wks after that. If you do not receive a report at the appropriate time, please contact your child's teacher, assistant principal, or counselor.
  •  How much are PE uniforms, band instruments, etc..?  PE uniforms are sold at cost, the school does not rent or purchase instruments; however, talk to the band director on your instrument options.
