What is Spring Fling?

If you’ve never been, you may be wondering what the Northwest Spring Fling event is all about.  Spring Fling is a wonderful carnival-like event that serves as the PTO’s biggest fundraiser each year.   Families who have attended look forward to it all year long.  Spring Fling has something for everyone to enjoy, including…

Adults—

There is a silent auction for amazing items that have been donated by local merchants.  These include restaurant gift certificates, amusement park passes, furniture, books, toys, electronics, tools, cosmetics, spa treatments – you name it.  The class theme baskets, filled with contributions from the families in each class, are also included in the silent auction.  Parents love the opportunity to get great deals while supporting the school!

Children—

Children of all ages love the excitement and carnival atmosphere of Spring FlingPast year’s favorites include the Sock Hop (complete with disco glitter ball), carnival games with prizes, cake walk, bouncy houses, hair painting and much, much more.

Everyone—

This is a real community event, a chance for everyone to catch up with old friends and make new ones.  And the fun starts long before the actual day of the event, during the preparation beforehand.  There is nothing more rewarding than working hard together with a great group of people for a cause we all feel very strongly about – supporting our children’s education!

So don’t forget to mark your calendar for the annual Spring Fling on Saturday, May 17th from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM.  We need everyone’s help to make this the successful event that the kids look forward to every year!

Some of the ways to get involved include:

  • Sign up to work a shift during the event by contacting Volunteer Coordinator Tammy Le at (512) 382-9514 or tammy@familypair.com
  • Contribute items to the class theme baskets
  • Help organize the theme baskets
