Cross Country 2009

Cross Country will begin the second week of school. All interested runners must have a physical and be prepared to run 2 miles.

  • There will be an informational meeting about cross county the first week of school.
  • Practice times for the morning or afternoon will be announced soon.
  • Athletes are able to do both cross county and Volleyball or Football but are required to make their own arrangements with the coaches.
  • Cross Country athletes do not have to be enrolled in the athletic class to participate.

Numbers of runners vary from meet to meet, so rules are established on the amount of practice each runner must attend to participate in meets.

Volleyball 2009

PHS LADY PANTHERS HIGH SCHOOL WEBPAGE

Volleyball tryouts will begin August 26th (the second day of school). Tryouts will be Aug. 26, 27, 28, Sept. 1 & 2. YOU MUST HAVE ALL ATHLETIC PAPERWORK COMPLETED AND TURNED IN BEFORE YOU CAN TRYOUT FOR THE TEAM!!!

The girls will need to have all of their paperwork turned in the FIRST DAY of school to start tryouts:

  • Physical (signed by a doctor)
  • Medical History
  • Pflugerville Athletic Emergency Card
  • UIL steroid form

Tryouts will finish September 2rd with a parent meeting to be help the following day September 3 at 5:00pm

Tryout Times/Practice Times:
7th grade 7:00am-first period
8th grade last period- 5:00pm

*Remember to pick up and drop off all students at the back of the gym. The gym doors will be unlocked at 6:30am.

Approximately 20 girls will be kept for each grade level team. (7th AB & 8th AB)

Girls Basketball 2009

Basketball tryouts will be held Nov. 16-19 with a parent meeting held the following Monday at 5:00pm.
The girls will need to have all of their paperwork turned in to begin tryouts:

  • Physical (signed by a doctor)
  • Medical History
  • Pflugerville Athletic Emergency Card

Girls Track and Field 2010

Pflugerville Girls Track Record Holders

Track tryouts will be the last week of February.

All girls enrolled in athletics are REQUIRED to tryout for track. Girls will tested in sprints, middle distance, distance, throwing, and jumping.

Students interested in track do not have to be enrolled in athletics.

For track we keep as many girls as possible their is not a set number. The names of the girls making the track team will be posted the last day of tryouts.

Track practice will be held after shool and in the morning depending on the event.

 

Football 2009-2010

On Thursday, August 13th, 7th and 8th grade football players will be able to pick up their football equipment from 9:00am - 4:00pm. You must have a physical and combination lock with you to receive equipment. If you can't make this date you will be able to get equipment when school starts. ALL ATHLETIC PAPERWORK, INCLUDING PHYSICALS, NEEDS TO BE TURNED IN BY THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL!

Soccer 2010

The 2010 soccer tryouts for girls and boys will begin April 5-9, with their first game on April 13.

Golf 2009

Pflugerville Middle School will be starting their golf tryouts the week of February 23. Tryouts will take place at Hard Drive Driving range on Monday the 23rd and Wednesday the 25th from 4:00-5:30. Students will need to provide their own transportation to and from the golf course. In order to tryout, students will need to fill out a questionairre and have and an Athletic Physical on file. Once tryouts are over, students will practice at Blackhawk Golf Course and Hard Drive Driving Range. Once the team is chosen there will be a mandatory meeting at Blackhawk golf course with parents and athletes to address expectations of the golf course. This meeting will be held March 2 at 4:30 . The Pflugerville Middle School Boys and Girls Golf Team participated in the Bastrop Invitational on April 9 at Bastrop State Park. The boys team finished 1st with a score of 197. Jacob Sowell tied for 1st place but lost on a scorecard playoff. The Panthers played extremely well and showed lots of promise.

Up next for the Panthers was the Dessau Diamondback Invitational held at Forest Creek Golf Course. The Panthers also took 1st place with an amazing 184 team total. Second place medalist was Brandon Woodward with a score of 40. Also placing for the Panthers wasTyler Papa with a fourth place finish. The Lady Panthers also played well and once again finished fourth.

The Panthers next tournament took them to Bastrop to play in the Cedar Creek Invitational. The Lady Panthers once again took fourth place honors while the boys team finished second. Trey Munn finished third with a 48.
