Welcome to the River Oaks Library!
We have a growing library to support our teachers, students, and curriculum. Each year we add books, audiovisual materials, and periodicals to the collection. Check out the Bluebonnet Reading Program list or the Caldecott Award books for this year:
River Oaks has an open library: students may come to the library, with their teacher’s permission, as often as they need access. Many students check out their own materials. This is helpful when the librarian is working with a class, group of students, or individuals, and may not be at the circulation desk. Parents are welcome to come in and volunteer time to shelve, repair, or process books! The library is open before and after school hours, and parents may help younger students select a book! (We now have 100 pages of quiz titles!) Parent access to Accelerated Reader is available by contacting Kay Hadley with this information: student name, teacher's name, and parent name. Information will be entered into AR ; quiz lists and your student's reports will be available for view when a parent is assigned a user name and password. Please allow one week for this to be accomplished.
