Are you the BEST CHEF in your family? Do you have a dish to beat all others? Does everyone ask you to please bring “that” dish to celebrations?
If so, you need to plan to enter Westview’s “Chef’s best” competition, hosted by the library in conjunction with the “Sweet Reads Book Fair”. The competition will take place on Wednesday evening, December 2, 2009, from 5:30-7:30 pm.
Planning to compete? Here’s what you do: 5:30 bring in your best dish to the library. Entry forms will be available when you arrive. 5:45 dish judging begins. While dishes are judged, shop at the book fair 6:45 winning dishes are announced 7:00-7:30 shop at the book fair and share the leftovers!

The Corner to Remember“The Corner to Remember” is a comfortable reading nook, with a selection of books purchased by the community and dedicated for a variety of reasons, and kept for future readers. To see a list of dedicated/donated books, please click here: Corner to Remember dedicated/donated books Library Vending Machine Prizes Pens, pencils (both regular and mechanical), and notebook paper are available for purchase in the main hallway. There will be one item in each box with a "You are a WINNER" sticker. If you get an item with the "You are a WINNER" sticker, bring it to the library to choose an item from the "Winner's Prize Box".

READING ROOM (LIBRARY) USEStudents, parents and family members can access the WMS catalog by clicking here: Westview Middle School On-line Library Student AccessDuring Class Time: Students may come to the library with their class or individually with a signed pass from their teacher. Students coming individually must sign in. During Lunch: Students may come to the library with a pass signed by a teacher. Students must sign in. After School: Students do not need a pass, but must sign in. Students may use computers for school work with a pass from a teacher. Parent accounts are available-contact the library. Check Out Policy: Students may check out books, magazines, videos, audio books and reference materials. Students may have three items checked out for a two week period, unless:
Books can be renewed as often as desired, unless the item has been reserved by another student. Check In Policy: Books can be returned to the Purple Mailbox outside the library doors, or placed in the book return at the circulation desk. Students are expected to return materials on time. We give a three day grace period, and then charge a dime a day (capped at $2.00) for overdue materials. Materials not returned must be paid for. Overdue notices are normally distributed through Language Arts classes the third week of each month.
