Westview PTOWelcome to the Westview Middle School Parent Teacher Organization -- proud supporters of our Westview Wildcats!Being a parent at Westview Middle School automatically entitles you to FREE membership in your PTO. Our purpose is to provide positive support for our Westview teachers, students, and staff. We work to achieve this goal through the provision of weekly student incentives, staff appreciation, weekly student store, on-going t-shirt/hoodie sales, and student dance refreshment sales. Researchers have been studying the effects parent attitudes and actions have on their children's academic success for more than 30 years. Anne Henderson and Nancy Berla summed it up in their book A New Generation of Evidence: The Family Is Critical to Student Achievement, which reviewed the existing research: "When parents are involved in their children's education at home, they do better in school. And when parents are involved in school, children go farther in school and the schools they go to are better.” Westview Parent Yahoo GroupIn case you didn’t know, the Westview PTO has an active Yahoo group. It’s a great way to stay informed about what is happening at your child’s school. This opt-in email group sends occasional updates to parents about PTO meetings, school events, parent volunteer needs and other important school information. Attend to hear a Principal’s Report, the latest on our school’s academic progress, upcoming school events and more. We would love to see you at our next PTO meeting! Westview PTO T-shirts & Long-sleeved HoodiesOne of our primary fundraisers, Westview T-shirts & Hoodies will continue to be sold during lunch, and at football and basketball games. T-shirts are $10.00 and Hoodies are $25.00. They are selling fast so get them while they last. Box Tops for EducationBox Tops are small pink labels found on many popular products such as cereals, fruit snacks, Ziploc bags and more. When you clip the Box Top coupons, our school earns $0.10 for each one. Box Tops can also be used as currency (worth $0.01 each) at the Friday school store. Please turn in your Box Tops at the library.

We are always looking for dedicated parents to join our PTO Board. We would love your involvement in any capacity whether you can actively volunteer at school events or can help only when your schedule allows. There is no minimum amount of time required and if every parent helped just 1 hour each month, it would make a world of difference for our kids. If you have a special area of expertise that could benefit the Westview PTO, please let us know.
