Teacher Compensation Information

Pflugerville ISD has a rich tradition of investing in its most valuable resource—its teachers. Since 1995, the District has provided a pay increase to teachers each year, and has seen its starting salary increase from $29,000 in 1999-2000 to $41,000 in 2010-11.

The District also places a high value on its veteran educators, with above market salaries for teachers with 15 years or more experience.

The 2010-11 pay range for new-to-the-District teachers begins at $41,000 for a teacher with no years of experience and a bachelor's degree and is capped at $57,350 for teachers with 28 or more years of experience.

Teachers with 1-27 years experience will be placed according to the District's placement schedule, according to credible years of service.

PISD pays teachers a master's differential of $1,250, and a doctorate differential of an additional $750.

  • Certified Special Education Teachers in Special Education assignment receive a $500 stipend.
  • Certified Bilingual Teachers in bilingual assignment (Spanish) receive a $3,000 stipend.
  • Certified Bilingual Teachers in bilingual assignment (Vietnamese) receive a $5,000 stipend.

2010-11 Salary Information for Returning Teachers

Pay increases for returning teachers for 2010-11 were based on the 2009-10 Teacher Salary Schedule. All returning teachers (step 1-27) received a step increase for the 2010-11 school year. Teachers with 28 or more years experience received a $500 increase. Teachers new to PISD in 2010-11 will be placed on the teacher placement schedule according to creditable years of service.
