Vision

To provide a learning environment that fuels the spirit of inquiry and directs problem solving and creativity through the resources, services, and expertise provided by the Pflugerville Independent School District librarians.

Mission

The mission of the Pflugerville Independent School District libraries and librarians is to ensure that our students, teachers, administrators, and staff are effective users of ideas and information.

Goals

1. Provide intellectual and physical access to materials in all formats.

2. Provide instruction to foster competence and stimulate interest in reading, viewing, and using information

and ideas.

3. Collaborate with other educators to plan, design, teach, and evaluate information literacy learning experiences to meet the needs of all students.

4. Encourage students to read and listen for both understanding and enjoyment.

5. Teach information literacy skills so that students learn life long skills and become self-reliant, independent adults and responsible, contributing citizens.

6. Teach students how to use and implement technology that will be required in the 21st century.

7. Adhere to the standards and guidelines set forth by the Texas State School Library Standards.

8. Support curriculum and instruction in accordance with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.
