Middle School TAKS Information Booklet and Passing Standards
The Texas Education Agency has released the new information guide to the new 8th grade test that will be given on April 20, 2006. (See attached PDF.)
On July 15, the Texas State Board of Education voted for a 2-year phase-in of passing standards for Middle School Science TAKS. Also, it was publicly announced that the criteria for "met standard' would be set at 33/50 questions (66% correct) and the criteria for "commended" would be set at 44/50 (88% correct). The second, and final reading (vote), for the 2-year phase-in of passing standards will be in September. Our SBOE representative, Mrs. Cynthia Thornton (Round Top) voted in favor of the 2-year phase-in.

TAKS Review - TRACK (TAKS Readiness and Core Knowledge)
TRACK is a free online TAKS readiness program. In TRACK you’ll find diagnostics to measure understanding of the objectives tested on the 11th grade exit-level test, and a library of learning tutorials to help you better understand those objectives. Go to website.
