Assessment
|
Districtwide TestingStatewide testing is a summative assessment administered according to the timeline provided by the State to students in specific grade levels and in particular content areas. This testing measures randomly selected Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS). The goal of the District developed Curriculum Based Assessment (CBA) tests is to measure the TEKS and our curriculum for each core subject area. CBAs are developed using commercially and locally designed questions and are administered at locally determined intervals during the year as a formative assessment. The purpose of our CBAs is to provide data-driven feedback to the students, teachers, and students’ parents during the learning process. How can parents help their child prepare for CBAs? Parents are urged to monitor their child’s academic progress throughout the grading period because CBAs are cumulative in nature; therefore, students cannot “cram” for the test.
