  • First Day Of School

    Welcome back Wieland Wildcats!

It was so great to have students on campus for the first day of school today.  Thank you for sharing your most precious students with us.

As I walked the building I was able to see teachers reading books, students working together to build groups, students introducing themselves and helping new students meet others, team building activities, tours of the building, fun silly stretch breaks, and many other fun things.

Changes for this year - all of Pflugerville ISD is running on a different schedule.

    • School starts at 7:35.  You want to be sure to have your students here on time each day so that they are not counted as tardy.
    • School ends at 2:50. This means that dismissal from the classrooms starts at 2:50 and kids will be coming out after that. We stagger the release, so that classes don’t get stuck on top of each other, this means our biggest kiddos won’t be out until closer to 2:55.
    • If you need to take a student for an appointment, please remember to get a note from the doctor, dentist or other approved appointment. These early releases count as missed time and will be counted as a tardy with no documentation.

PTO: If you are interested in getting involved with our school through the PTO, please complete this link.

Also, if you are interested in volunteering at our school, there is an online application. We are always open and interested in adults who are able to assist. It can be one time here at school, going on a field trip, or regularly helping in the cafeteria. We are also looking for adults who can serve as a mentor for students who may need an extra adult in their life.

Through the day we were able to post some photos on our social media accounts.  You can follow us on twitter @Wieland_PfISD on Instagram @wielandpfisd and on Facebook @ www.facebook.com/WielandPFISD/ to see what is happening in Wieland.

If you have any questions - please let me know.

    Passionately serving for your kids.

    Thank you,

    Dear Wieland Parent,

Welcome!  We are so happy to have your child at Wieland, and we are looking forward to an exceptional year filled with lots of learning and lots of joy.

We will work with you to ensure that your child receives the best education at Wieland Elementary School.  Our Wieland teachers and staff, want you to know that we value your job as parents, and look forward to making sure your child has a positive and successful experience at Wieland Elementary School.

Daily attendance is highly important.  School hours are 7:35-2:50. In order for your child to learn the most, he or she needs to be here daily unless he/she is ill.  Arrival to school on time is equally as important.  Students eat breakfast starting at 7:20, and are considered tardy if they arrive in the building after 7:35.

Wieland is a campus that lives by a “Capturing Kids Hearts” philosophy, so your child will be greeted daily at the classroom door with a handshake, and will have an opportunity to share “Good Things” with his/her classmates.  As a Capturing Kids Hearts campus, we believe that students learn best when they feel safe and connected to their teachers and school.   Please ask your child about the Social Contract they will sign in class at the beginning of the year.  It will be the commitment that students and staff make to one another

Wieland continues to be designated as a “No Place for Hate” school.  Wieland students participate in activities throughout the school year to earn this designation.  The activities support our “no bullying” stance.

During the first weeks of school, our students will be writing their “Power of Yet” statements.  These statements promote a growth mindset, that encourages the effort to do or learn something that they haven’t “yet” learned.  It promotes the idea of believing that we are capable of growing our intelligence which is a key to long-term success in education.

If you have questions prior to school starting, please call the campus at 512-594-3900, and we will be pleased to help answer your questions.  For more school information you reach our school website through the Pflugerville ISD website. You can also find us on Facebook and Twitter to get the latest updates on what is happening at Wieland.

    Thank you,
