Frequently Asked Questions
- Is childcare available before or after the camps?
No. Please do not drop your child off earlier than 15 minutes before class.
- Are scholarships available?
Yes, a limited number of scholarships are available for each camp. If your child qualifies for free or reduced lunch and you would like to be considered for a scholarship, submit the registration and health forms and contact Helen Brown to notify her to consider your child for a scholarship. You will be notified by May 28 if your child has been offered a scholarship.
- How will I know if my child is accepted to a camp?
Your child will receive a confirmation letter at school, at the latest, by May 28. If the camp fills up before your child is enrolled, we will notify you by phone or email and return your check.
- If my plans change, can I get a refund?
Yes, as long as you contact Helen Brown at 594-0111 or Helen.brown@pflugervilleisd.net, by June 4, 2010. After that date, you will only receive a refund if we can fill that slot with another student.
- Is it okay if my child misses a class or two?
Yes, however, try not to miss a robotics class, because each day's experience is key to success the following day.
- If my child misses a day, may I get a refund for that day?
No, we pay the teacher from the registration fees and need full payment.
- May I stay with my child in class?
You may visit the class to see how your child is doing, but we want to foster independence in the child, so, generally, it is better if the parent does not stay all day.
- Is a nurse available to give meds?
Yes. Be sure to indicate medical needs on the registration form.
